In part two of Madilyn Bailey’s exclusive uInterview, she answered more fan questions ranging from topics about what would be her dream video to how her husband contributed to the creation of her new album, Hollywood Dead.
Bailey started off by explaining to uInterview founder Erik Meers, that she plans on creating more original music and covers, which “have a special place in my heart and in my audience’s heart too.”
The singer is currently pregnant, making it a bit more difficult for her to sing as much as she would like. “Your lower abdominal muscles really help you sing and when you’re pregnant, they’re not there, they don’t exist,” she shared.
When asked about what her dream music video would be, she explained that she has actually already been able to achieve most of what she has wanted to accomplish. “I’ve been able to do a lot of really fun music videos I’ve always wanted to do for, what I guess would consider a reasonable price, like something that I can afford,” she said.
One example that she recalled was in her “Hollywood Dead” video, where she, “hired children to play those roles to kind of reflect the, like exaggerate the age difference.”
In addition, she had some fun creating the video for “Serious,” where she “learned the entire song in reverse.”
Bailey shared that her husband, Jimmy, actually was her inspiration for two of the songs on the album. One of them is “Serious,” which is “about when I first met him and I was like dead set on not dating him I was like, ‘No I’m not going to fall in love with you.’”
The second song that was based on Jimmy was “Doomsday in L.A.,” which focuses on how “everyone was leaving L.A. during the pandemic” and the couple was struggling with whether they should leave or stay. Ultimately, they agree that “L.A. is the place for us, it’s where we want to be and, you know, it doesn’t matter how it changes, there’s no place you’d rather be than here together.”
Jimmy actually helped Bailey write one lyric in “Hollywood Dead”: “Just another D-list celebrity.” “I asked him if he wanted writing credit and he was like, ‘No that’s dumb I’m not taking writing credit,’” she said.
Bailey recalled how it took her over a year to write and create Hollywood Dead. “A year ago, right around this time was when I decided that I’m gonna release the album,” she said. She actually began writing some of the songs around four years ago, explaining that “it’s been kind of a process.”
She shared that she has two favorite songs from the whole album. She loves “Serious,” which she believes is “the best pop song that’s on the album.” Her second favorite is “Dreams Die Hard” due to her emotional connection to it since it is based on her “fertility journey.”

Fans are already excited about the prospect of Bailey releasing more albums in the future. She confirmed that she will be writing more, but advised fans to “slow down” and she “just released this one” which took “at least a year maybe plus to put together.” She doesn’t currently have any plans for her next album but said that they can expect it in “another year at least.”
