Jessica Barden says playing Winona in her new film Pink Skies Ahead was “autobiographical,” in her new uInterview.
“The preparation I did was just like exist for 26 years as like, me,” Barden told uInterview’s Erik Meers. “And just like kind of live the exact same way, where I’m like, ‘Oh my god. Like why am I talking the most in this conversation? Or like, ‘Why is everybody else talking really quiet and I’m talking really loud?’ Or I’ll be like, ‘Oh my God. Why did I just start singing that song in the middle of the funeral?’ Anything where I’m like, ‘Why have I done this?'”
“I’m really comfortable using my own experience in things, I love exploring it. As much as I obviously was playing a character and my entire life is not really like Winona, but a huge part of it was just, yeah, my life, being alive,” she said, adding, “and I’m a human natural disaster as well.”
