Better Call Saul, a legal spinoff of Breaking Bad, follows former con artist Jimmy McGill as he develops into a criminal defense lawyer known as Saul Goodman.

Jeremiah Bitsui, who plays a character named Victor, recently sat down with uInterview founder Erik Meers to discuss what it was like working with Bob Odenkirk (Saul Goodman) and Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring) on the show.

“The first episode of Season 3, for me, coming back, Mike [Mando] and Jonathan Banks were there,” Bitsui said. “[Michael] was welcoming me to set, saying, ‘Hey man, we’re back. The gift that keeps giving. Happy to have you! I think we’re going to have some great things in store.’ Getting to know Michael … he’s become a good friend. We’ve spent a lot of time and just knowing how intently he carries his character. You’d never think we’re friends off screen when you see what we do on screen.”

“Bob is amazing at having to wear so many hats,” the actor added. “There was a time we went and did yoga one night. We sat on one of the roofs downtown and drank kombucha and did yoga. Those are the moments that stuck out.”

Out of Bitsui’s multiple seasons on the show, one episode in particular stands out.

“One of the most beautiful episodes that I was able to be apart of was called ‘Something Beautiful,'” he revealed. “The way they shot that and the staging of the ambush and shooting of Michael Mando‘s character – It was so beautiful, dark and matter of fact. We had a lot of fun that day. Arturo, the character, was at that time dead. We were having fun poking at him. We were teasing him because he looked like The Walking Dead zombie at that moment. It stands out as one I think we pulled off amazingly.”

Steam Season 6 of Better Call Saul on AMC+ today.
