Singer and Lost Boys star Corey Feldman opened up about his new life as a rock star and performing for large crowds in his new uInterview.
Feldman explained to uInterview founder Erik Meers about how he is finishing up his Love ReTours tours this month, which began last year.
“It was a great successful tour, we kept adding legs because it was successful, and it kind of kept growing in its success and its numbers and whatever,” Feldman said. “We just kept kind of getting bigger and better venues and, you know, kind of building as we went.”
He recalled how he was shocked at how big of an audience had gathered for his performance at Riot Fest in Chicago recently.
“I’ve done shows bigger than that with my band Truth Movement,” he said. “We did a show on the Santa Cruz boardwalk one year where I was told they had 60,000 people. I don’t really know, how many people I just know that it was spread out forever but you know that was a band show and it was a special occasion.”
Feldman was unprepared for a large crowd, as when he arrived at the venue there were only about 20 or 30 people waiting. Thirty minutes before his show, his security guard shared that the area was packed with fans, which Feldman didn’t believe.
The security guard told Feldman, “There’s no way to get anywhere close to the front of the stage because it’s already packed.” To which Feldman responded, “Yeah right.”
Feldman then went to the stage to see what was happening.
“There’s like a hundred people on the stage,” he recalled. “And I was like, ‘Wow, this is crazy!’ You know, I figured it must be for the next band of something – all their people were ready for the next thing. And I’m like, ‘What are all these people doing here?’ And some lady’s like, ‘Oh, we’re all here to see you.’ And I’m like, ‘What?’”
Feldman will be finishing his tour in the coming months with four more shows.
On Thursday, he will be performing in San Diego at the House of Blues. Feldman was excited about this show as it will be a Lost Boys tribute special.
“We’re going to show The Lost Boys, the whole film before the concert,” he described. “We’re going to show a movie and a concert. So we’re going to have the movie before the concert, we’re going to have [fellow Lost Boys actor] Jamison Newlander there as a special guest, and he’s actually gonna come out on stage and perform something, and we’re doing VIP meet and greets after the show.”
Feldman shared that he is currently planning an international tour.
“Unfortunately, we’ve been having problems with our agents seeming to be able to book that stuff, which is really frustrating for me because we’ve done, like, I mean I’ve literally done like 15 tours of the U.S.,” he said.
Besides touring, Feldman has six cameos coming up for various movies and a new Funko Pop from his “Ascension Millennium” video that are being released.
“I was very honored that they did a Funko Pop of my ‘Ascension Millennium’ video, so it’s like a rock star Corey. Which is really cool, it’s quite an honor because you know they’ve got Pops of like my movies, like Lost Boy character they’ve got the Mouth character, they’ve got the Donatello character, you know they got all the different Pops from my films but there’s none of actually Corey.”
