Leem Lubany, one of the stars of the AT&T Audience series Condor, found that filming the show based on the the original film, Three Days of the Condor, to be a “thrill” acting opposite to Max Irons.
“It excites me, like every time I go on set I’m like, “What will they do today? What will Joubert do today?” So each scene was, like, my favorite, because it’s different from the others,” the Palestinian actress told uInterview exclusively in a video interview.
Lubany enjoyed playing her character Gabrielle Joubert, who is a portrayal of Max von Sydow‘s character in the original film. She described her Joubert and “relentless” and “passionate.”

“Gabrielle Joubert is an elite specialist force operative. But at the same time she is the person that people go to if they want to get something or the job done, big small, she’s the person to do it. Because she is relentless, [she has] killed, passionate,” Lubany said. “Through the whole thing she is very mysterious. She’s a loner, you don’t quite know what’s going on in her mind.”
The main character, Joe Turner, is played by Irons, who Lubany was very fond of working with. She said she “couldn’t ask for a better partner” to work with during filming. The duo, according to Lubany, had “beautiful chemistry and [they] connected really fast.” She believes that no one could portray Turner better than Irons.
“He’s such an phenomenal actor, and amazing human being on set and off set. I just couldn’t ask for a better partner, to act with him,” Lubany said. “I think he’s such a perfect man for the role that he got. I couldn’t see anyone having this kind of huge character on his back, and just portraying it in such a beautiful way. I just think he’s just phenomenal.”

Who is your character in the series?
My character is based on Max von Sydow who plays the character in the original film. Gabrielle Joubert is an elite specialist force operative. But at the same time she is the person that people go to if they want to get something or the job done, big small, she’s the person to do it. Because she is relentless, killed, passionate. Through the whole thing she is very mysterious. She’s a loner, you don’t quite know what’s going on in her mind. That’s what makes it even more fascinating, you don’t quite know the reasons for her doings.
What was it like working with Max Irons?
Well he’s so nice, I mean, I cannot stress that enough. He’s such an phenomenal actor, and amazing human being on set and off set. I just couldn’t ask for a better partner, to act with him. I think he’s such a perfect man for the role that he got. I couldn’t see anyone having this kind of huge character on his back, and just portraying it in such a beautiful way. I just think he’s just phenomenal. We had a beautiful chemistry and we connected really fast, I think that’s a bonus.
What was your fondest memory about the shoot?
It excites me, like every time I go on set I’m like, “What will they do today? What will Joubert do today?” So each scene was, like, my favorite, because it’s different from the others. Like what will she pull up her sleeves? So I don’t have a particular thing, like popping into my head. But all I can say is the whole experience was thrilling and exciting.
