Matt — Yes, you are a class act. Your piano playing and singing of Georgia on My Mind was great. We have some indirect connection, because my son Jeff plays guitar at Richland Bible Church. And Kelly and Jamie sing in the choir and praise team. Keep up the good work.
Q: How many songs do you get to do on tour? - Uinterview User
I think I might play "Georgia On My Mind." I’m thinking about some of the songs I did on the show, but nothing is in stone.
Q: What is the first thing you did when you got back home to Kalamazoo?
- Uinterview
There was a big crowd waiting for me and I got to ride in a big limo from Leisure Limo. And then I drove a car and I drove it really fast. I haven’t driven in three months, so I had to get that out of system.
Q: Do think you'll play the drums on tour? - Uinterview User
You just reminded me of that. [laughs] I thought maybe I should hop on the drums. That may be an idea.
Q: Q: did you write all the songs on your 2 pre-idol albums?
Q: will you sing Georgia for the finale?
Q: can we hear your rendition of Simple Man on a video or tour or something? I'm dying to hear that! - Kelsey
Q: Hi, Matt. I fell in love with you during your audition. Your journey was very emotional for your fans too, but we had a blast watching you. I've listened to your Mind, Body and Soul album and One Man Audience caught my attention. Beautiful lyrics. What inspired you to write it? - Livia Caroline
Q: Hey Matty, I love your fedoras. I was wondering how many you have in your collection? - Pink
I probably have 10. It’s a newer thing.
Q: Matt, what has been your favorite moment of the entire season? - Cindy
"Part-time Lover" was one of my favorite moments because everything sort of came together. The lights and arrangement that I came up with and all that. And obviously being saved was my favorite moment, what an amazing thing to be a part of. I can’t wait to see my name on a Trivial Pursuit card. How amazing it is to be the first save ever on Idol?
Q: Hey Matty G :)
This is GeeketteNThePink, #66 from The Giraud Squad. CONGRATS on everything!! Your voice and piano playing rock!! I was wondering what has been the craziest gift you have received from a fan? (Was it the bad girls gift from us?) Hehe!! - Pink

This is GeeketteNThePink, #66 from The Giraud Squad. CONGRATS on everything!! Your voice and piano playing rock!! I was curious, If you could go on tour with anyone, who would it be? - Pink
Q: Let's Get It On was my favorite performance on AI this season. Are you aware of the commotion you caused by wearing those painted on jeans? - Livia Caroline
Q: Matt, I have a simple question for ya...What is your favorite food and would you let me cook it for ya? :)~ - Pink
Q: I've been watching AI for a long time and i've always seen how the AI audience reacts to true artists like you. Somehow they just get overlooked. You're passionate, talented and beautiful, and you had nothing else to showcase but that. Do you think that hurt you a little in the Idol game? Not having a sob story or little dramas involving your life? - Livia Caroline
Q: I know you say a lot that winning or being "glamorous" was never your goal with American Idol. you just wanted to meet the mentors, and gain important contacts to your career (which you did). My question for you would be: when, in your own PERSONAL CAREER, would you say that you are "successful"? At what point do you see yourself at when you can truely say I am successful in the career that I wanted for myself? - renina

Q: Is there a song that you didn't get a chance to sing on Idol that you wish you could have?
- Angela
I don’t know. I think I got to do all the ones I really wanted to do–except "Staying Alive." All the songs really moved me and meant a lot to me. "Have You Ever Loved a Woman" and "My Funny Valentine," they were dreams come true just to sing those songs.
Q: First off, you're amazing and super talented. You amaze me with your artistry. (Not to sound too much like Kara or anything!) Now kicks in my inner fan girl...boxers or briefs? ;-) - Amie Mocere
Q: 1. Some of your fans from the American Idol forums get together and talk on Twitter. Do you have an account? If not, do you realize someone is pretending to be you? we would love for you to get an account and come chat with us!
2. I have searched for you on youtube and I found a piano bar performance of Ignition by R. Kelly! It is my favorite! Any chance you will do something like that on the tour?
3. Have you ever recieved any crazy gifts? (i.e. a pair of boxers from the bad girl fan club??) ;)
- Holly
Q: How does a young guy cope with this new "ladies man, hunk" status??? Will you be my date to my friends wedding? I'll buy you lots and lots of Taco Bell ;-) - Amie
Q: Did you always want to be a singer, or did you have some other dream job when you were a kid? - Maddie
I always wanted to be a musician. It wasn’t a fame thing. I was always like, ‘Man I can’t wait to make good music and influence people the way I was influenced as a young guy.' I was always an entertainer, I know that. I wanted to make someone laugh or smile–that was my pleasure.
Q: Can you sing the song you would have sang for rock week, and what you would sing for next week so everyone can see you should have stayed??! - maddie
Q: How did you feel when you heard you were eliminated?
- Uinterview User
At first it was a feeling of relief, I don’t have to stress out any more. It's this family that’s been around you for a long time, and they’re all giving you the sad face. That was the hard part everyone feeling bad for you.
Q: Did you feel you gave the best performance that you could?
- Uinterview
I don’t think you’ve seen me at my best yet. I’ve been on Ellen and Regis and it was me with no nerves, and everyone is saying you are a lot better now. I’m a lot better without all those cameras to look at and all that pressure. I’m looking forward to showing more of myself.
Q: Did you form bonds with any particular Idols?
- Uinterview
We were all very close. We were together way too much. Anoop, Kris, Alexis Grace we were all good friends. We all keep in touch and we are all excited to come back on the finale.
Q: Were the other Idols jealous of all the attention that Adam got?
- uinterview
I don’t know about jealousy, but we’d kind of tease whoever got really the best comments. If Kris got really good comments, we’d all be backstage and say “And the winner is… Kris Allen…” or “What is this the Adam Lambert Show?” And he’d be like, “Come on guys…” It was really intense, but we tried to keep a really light-hearted feel to the whole thing. It’s not the biggest deal if you have to go home–top 5 is pretty good.
The Giraud Squad really loved all the great outfits you wore! You have a great fashion sense. Did you ever receive the funny boxers we sent you?

Love this interview! Matt’s the best!
