A peaceful Indigo flight in India from Guwahati to Agartala quickly turned chaotic when a depressed passenger, Biswajit Debnath, 41, tried to open a door mid-flight – to jump from the plane.
Debnath, who has a history of battling depression, opened the door with the intent to jump out while putting the rest of the 180 people at risk.
Another passenger was able to step up and stop him from opening the door. As the individual restrained him, other crew came to assist him as they forced Debnath into an empty seat to watch over him.
This whole incident was caught on video and quickly went viral on social media.
After the flight, Debnath was arrested for the endangerment of the passengers and assault.
The incident come only weeks after an Albanian man, Victor Troboloni, tried doing the same thing on a flight from Israel to London. Trobolini was also stopped by a brave passenger.
