Taylor Swift made history at the 65th annual Grammy Awards after winning the Best Music Video award for All Too Well: The Short Film, making her an award-winning director.
The Midnights singer, who was nominated for four awards, arrived at the 2023 Grammy’s red carpet in a stunning midnight Roberto Cavalli two-piece, wearing $3 million worth of jewelry and her signature red lip.
It is safe to say that Swift, the first female artist to win Album of the Year three times, has had her fair share of Grammy wins in the past. She had also previously won the award for Best Music Video for Bad Blood in 2016. However, her win with All Too Well made her the first artist to win the category with sole directing credit for their own music video.
The 33-year-old hitmaker wasn’t present at the time to accept the award herself and was instead accepted by her video co-producer, Saul Germaine.
“This vision was all Taylor,” he said upon accepting the award. “It was an incredible honor to tell this story with you,” he said before thanking the cast, Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien, and their team.
Swift took to Twitter to express her gratitude to her fans and peers for her accomplishment and 12th Grammy win.
“I can’t put into words what this means to me. For the Recording Academy and my peers to acknowledge me as a director, and in doing so, acknowledge my work to try and reclaim my music… I’m blown away,” she tweeted.
Like Father Like Son will be released in theaters on January 31, 2025.
