R&B singer Tamar Braxton has announced that she is leaving this season of Dancing With The Stars due to a major health concern. Her exit marks the second withdrawal from the show this year for health related reasons, following reality star Kim Zolciak‘s departure last month due to a previously undiagnosed heart condition.
“With a Heavy heart I regret to inform you that my season of #dwts has to come to an end along with the rest of my tour dates with @musicbykem,” the singer wrote in an Instagram post. She had only just returned to the dance floor on Monday following a short break after being treated for what doctors had initially though was pneumonia. A correct diagnosis, however, revealed that her situation was more serious.
The singer, 38, revealed she had several “P.E.’s (blood clots in the side of my lungs)”. She regretted being unable to continue dancing in the competition but emphasized that her health had to be her number one priority.
“As you all know I will be the first to always encourage anyone to push through any obstacle that comes along one’s way,” she said, “But in this case, my health is my current obstacle.”
The pic shows Braxton with dancing partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, and Braxton takes the opportunity to thank the dancing pro for his continued support, writing, “p.s. Big hugs and kisses to my boo @iamvalc for being beyond a friend, brother and the BEST partner EVER.”
