Shannen Doherty Says Her Stage 4 Breast Cancer Has Spread To Her Bones, But Remains Defiant: ‘I’m Not Done’

Beverly Hills, 90210 star Shannen Doherty has revealed that her stage four breast cancer has spread to her bones. 

Despite this, she said that she wouldn’t let her illness stop her from enjoying her life.

“I’m not done with living,” she wrote. “I’m not done with loving. I’m not done with creating. I’m not done with hopefully changing things for the better. I’m just not — I’m not done.”  

Doherty hopes to be involved in clinical trials for developing treatments. She also plans on doing a podcast talking about her past and present.

She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. The cancer went into remission two years later, but it returned in 2019.

Doherty has been determined about documenting her battle. She has shared many Instagram videos of her undergoing treatment.

Doherty has also been active by attending events. She was seen at a Beverly Hills, 90210 panel at 90’s Con in September, where she was greeted with a standing ovation.

Doherty has embraced an life everyday attitude despite her diagnosis.

“People just assume that it means you can’t walk, you can’t eat, you can’t work,” she said. “They put you out to pasture at a very early age – ‘You’re done, you’re retired.’ We’re vibrant, and we have such a different outlook on life. We are people who want to work and embrace life and keep moving forward.”
