Seth Rogen explained on Friday that he will no longer be participating in any of his already scheduled press-tour appearances with SiriusXM radio. Rogan said the company’s recent hiring of Steve Bannon, the former strategist for President Donald Trump, was the cause.
Rogan tweeted on Friday morning, “I was supposed to do a press tour on @SiriusXM on Tuesday but I’m no longer doing it because I can’t bring myself to appear on the same service that has decided to support Steve Bannon. Apologies to the shows I had to cancel. And fuck Steve Bannon.”
It was publicly announced that Bannon would be returning to his position after he left the White House. SiriusXM announced that Bannon will return as a regular host beginning immediately.
Along with Rogan, other celebrities such as John Leguizamo and Melissa Etheridge have promised to boycott SiriusXM on the grounds of Bannon’s return. Ethridge tweeted, “After news that @SIRIUSXM has given #SteveBannon a show, I can no longer in good conscience be a part of my show @siriusxmvolume #speaktrue”
Actor John Leguizamo chimed in shortly after.
