Pregnant Amy Schumer Cancels Tour Dates After Being Hospitalized With Severe Morning Sickness

Actress Amy Schumer has canceled her upcoming stand-up shows due to pregnancy complications.

On Thursday, Schumer, who announced that she was expecting her first child with her husband Chris Fischer a month ago, apologized to fans in Texas after canceling her Dallas tour stop due to her being hospitalized with hyperemesis gravidarum. This severe condition of morning sickness was also experienced by Ayesha Curry and Kate Middleton during all three of her pregnancies.

“Texas I am so deeply sorry. I have been really looking forward to these shows. I have to reschedule,” the comedian captioned a photo of herself on a hospital bed. “I am in the hospital. I’m fine. Baby’s fine but everyone who says the 2nd trimester is better is not telling the full story. I’ve been even more ill this trimester. I have hyperemesis and it blows. Very lucky to be pregnant but this is some bullshit! Sending so much love to the doctors and nurses taking great care of me and Tati! They are cool as hell! And Texas I am really really sorry and I’ll be out there as soon as I’m better.”

Throughout her pregnancy, the I Feel Pretty star has been very vocal about her experiences of being pregnant. Last Tuesday, Schumer attended the inaugural Conversations for Change dinner, where Time’s Up CEO Lisa Borders was honored by The Glenlivet. At the dinner, Schumer wore a fitted red dress that hugged her midsection and showed off her baby bump. The mom-to-be took to Instagram to share a group photo from the evening and wrote, “thanks to my body for not puking most nights from 7-10!”

Last week, the Trainwreck star also shared an ultrasound video. “It’s moving all around! Oh my God, oh my God, see it has so much energy — that’s why I’m puking every day,” Schumer said in the video.

In February, Schumer married Fischer in a secret ceremony in Malibu. When Schumer first revealed her pregnancy news last month, she told The Times, “Chris and I are thrilled and almost positive he’s the father. I look forward to competing with Markle every step of the way.” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, are also expecting their first child together.

Last month, Schumer shared a photo of herself leaning over a toilet with the lid open, where she joked with fellow mom-to-be Markle. “Markle is in [Fiji] today and #same,” she wrote on the morning-sickness photo, adding, “MILF alert.”
