Pentatonix, the hit a cappella group formed in Arlington, Texas in 2011, has proved to be a fan favorite when it won the third season of NBC’s The Sing-Off, in which it signed a recording contract with Sony Music. Vocalists in the group are Scott Hoying (baritone), Mitch Grassi (tenor), Kirstin Maldonado (mezzo-soprano), Kevin Olusola (tenor/beatboxer) and Matt Sallee (bass). They rose to fame with their cover of “Hallelujah,” along with their Daft Punk-inspired cover. Their original music, such as “Can’t Sleep Love,” is certified gold and has made 500,000 sales.

In addition to sales, the group is a hit on YouTube, where it currently has over 17 million subscribers and four billion views. When the a cappella singers are not making YouTube videos, they are touring around the world. Their current tour kicks off November 30 in New York City and will hit major cities along the way, including Boston and Uncasville, up until its last show on December 15 in Philadelphia.
