On Wednesday, the 51-year old accepted the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in Boy Erased. The movie tells the true story of a teenager put through conversion therapy in the United States

When Kidman accepted the award, she advised fans to branch out and support smaller movies.

“These films are hard right now. They’re hard to get audiences for. They’re hard to get made,” she said.

But the actress didn’t shy away from the fact that she was cast alongside Jason Momoa in Aquaman. The movie is expect to be one of the biggest of this year.

“You know, I’m also in Aquaman. That is not hard to get made. It’s a whole different thing and it’s nice to be fun. But this is where you go, ‘please go and see these movies’ because otherwise we won’t have the chance to make them anymore,'” she said.

Boy Erased is based on a 2016 book with the same title
