Netflix has announced the return of the popular original comedy series, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which had its final season last January, as an interactive special in 2020.
Ellie Kemper, Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski and Carol Kane are set to reprise their roles in the special and give the series a proper conclusion.
The interactive special will be similar to Netflix’s Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and will allow viewers to decide what happens in a choose-your-own-adventure format.
Series co-creator Tina Fey, who is set to return as executive producer, seems pleased by the announcement of the the special.

“We’re thrilled to announce that we’re about to start production on an all-new interactive Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt special, set to debut on Netflix in 2020,” said Fey.
“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt was one of the first original comedy series on Netflix, and now it will be its first interactive comedy event. Fans will be able to make choices on behalf of our characters, taking different story paths with, of course, different jokes. I think it’s a great fit for our show and will be a great way to officially complete the series,” noted Fey.
