MMA fighter Conor McGregor allegedly attempted to hit rapper Machine Gun Kelly at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night.
The fighter was seen getting to an altercation with Kelly where he was screaming at him and had to be restrained by security.
The altercation allegedly started because McGregor asked to take a photo with Kelly, a request that his team denied. McGregor denies these claims and said that he never asked him for a photo.
“Nothing happened with me, I only fight real fighters, people that actually fight, you know what I mean,” McGregor said later. “I certainly don’t fight little vanilla boy rappers. I don’t even know the guy. I don’t know anything about him, except that he’s with Megan Fox.”
McGregor attended the awards to present the artist of the year award, which was won by Justin Bieber. Kelly performed his hit song “Papercuts” along with Travis Barker.
The VMA’s took place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York Sunday night and was hosted by Doja Cat. The show was one of the first awards shows to return to an in-person format with a live audience.
