Miley Cyrus’ parents are getting divorced again. Tish Cyrus filed for divorce from Billy Ray Cyrus in what will be the couple’s third split over a marriage of nearly three decades.

Tish cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split in the documents she filed in a Tennessee court last week. She also claimed that they haven’t lived together since February 2020, which some fans may have noticed given holiday family photos Tish had shared where Billy Ray was absent.

They have had three children together including their eldest daughter Miley, Braison, 27, and Noah, 22. No custody agreement has to be worked out since all their children are adults, and Tish is asking the courts for an equal distribution of the couple’s assets.

Tish and Billy Ray married in 1993, in a small ceremony in their Franklin, Tennessee living room. It was smooth sailing for 17 years, but then Billy Ray first filed for divorce in 2010. It was later called off, but then Tish filed in 2013 only for that to end as well. Maybe Billy Ray will record an emotional enough take-me-back single to reverse this divorce for the third time, but they usually say the third time’s the charm.

Miley has already had a brush with divorce herself with Liam Hemsworth. She later said in an interview that divorcing in the public eye and facing people’s judgments “really sucked.”
