Metallica ‘Beyond Psyched’ To Have “Master of Puppets” Featured In ‘Stranger Things 4’

The highly-anticipated finale of Stranger Things 4 earned the stamp of approval from rock band Metallica.

Eddie Munson’s rendition of the band’s song “Master of Puppets” in the finale had band mates James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo “blown away.” The band posted a clip from the scene on Instagram Tuesday, praising the inclusion of the track.

Eddie, played by Joseph Quinn, picks up his electric guitar and plays the 1986 track to help his friends sneak into the villain’s lair, the Creel house.

“The way The Duffer Brothers have incorporated music into Stranger Things has always been next level, so we were beyond psyched for them to not only include ‘Master of Puppets’ in the show, but to have such a pivotal scene built around it. We were all stoked to see the final result and when we did we were totally blown away… it’s so extremely well done,” they wrote.

They continued: “It’s an incredible honor to be such a big part of Eddie’s journey and to once again be keeping company with all of the other amazing artists featured in the show.”

The song returned to music charts after the finale’s debut, along with Kate Bush‘s 1985 track “Running Up That Hill” which was also featured in Season Four.

The sci-fi series finale was so popular among viewers that Netflix crashed as fans rushed to watch the final two episodes of season four upon release. More than 13,00 users reported errors moments after the episodes launched.
