Lizzo announced that she is considering ending her music career due to the deluge of negative comments made about her body on social media.

This comes after Twitter user Layah Heilpern made some cruel comments, body shaming Lizzo on her Twitter account.

Heilpern tweeted: “How is Lizzo still THIS fat when she’s constantly moving this much on stage?! I wonder what she must be eating.” The post included a video of Lizzo wearing a green dress while dancing on stage during one of her concerts.

Lizzo responded to the tweet and similar comments in a series of posts. 

Lizzo has recently made her Twitter account private and only her approved followers can see her tweets now.

Lizzo additionally fired back on Instagram by posting a video of her at one of her concerts holding a sign that read, “I’m sorry people on Twitter suck. You are beautiful & special.”

She captioned the post: “I WILL NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT HOW DIFFICULT YALL MAKE IT FOR FAT PEOPLE TO SIMPLY EXIST. MINDING YOUR BUSINESS IS *FREE* IF THE INTERNET WAS LIMITED AND ONE COMMENT TOOK 24HRS TO POST I WONDER WHAT SOCIAL MEDIA WOULD BE LIKE.”

This is hardly the first time fans have made offensive comments such as this one.

The singer has posted many times on various social media platforms firing back at these brutal comments.

Lizzo has always been an advocate for body positivity. She has spoken publicly about how women should just be themselves and not let others dictate their actions. Some of her songs also include lyrics that speak about having a positive self-image. 

Her best-known songs include “Truth Hurts,” “Juice,” “Boys,” “Good As Hell” and “Rumors.”
