Lin-Manuel Miranda Performs ‘My Shot’ During ‘SNL’ Monologue [VIDEO]

Lin-Manuel Miranda, the award-winning writer and composer behind the hit musical Hamilton, hosted Saturday Night Live on Saturday night. This made for a great episode featuring jokes, a remix of Hamilton song “My Shot,” and an appearance by SNL‘s producer asking Miranda for tickets to the hit musical.

After the phenomenal success of his creation, Miranda took the opportunity to showcase his talent on SNL. He performed a version of the song “My Shot” with a twist  the lyrics compared the plot of Hamilton to the current presidential election. Although he didn’t mention his name, Miranda took a shot at candidate Donald Trump, singing: “He never gonna be president now.”

This is not the first time Miranda has shown his distaste for the Republican nominee. In one interview, he told Variety: “Trump earned my contempt with his comments on John McCain, and his doubling down on the Gold Star family just made me sick to my stomach.”

At the end of last night’s episode, Lorne Michaels, the man who created and produced SNL, asked Miranda: “Any word on those Hamilton tickets? I can do a matinee.” This proved once again that getting tickets to the renowned Broadway show is nearly impossible.
