Lady Gaga Will Start Her Dive Bar Tour In Nashville

One month after the release of her new single “Perfect Illusion,” Lady Gaga keeps on promoting her upcoming album Joanne, expected to the be released on Oct. 21. She recently revealed that she is heading on a short dive bar tour around the country, where she will play new songs such as “Million Reasons.”

In partnership with Bud Light, the singer is embarking on a three-day tour, starting on Wednesday. The show will be available for live streaming at 10 p.m. EST on Bud Light’s Facebook page. The remaining Dive Bar Tour performances will take place at undisclosed locations on Oct. 20 and Oct. 27. Bar audiences will be exclusively made up of concert winners.

“My first performances were in dive bars in New York City,” Gaga said.

The “Poker Face” singer is trying a new direction, trying to reconnect with her roots. She has teased on her album’s influences, which finds inspiration in the American indie genre. Joanne will feature Father John Misty, Florence Welsh, Giorgio Moroder and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker. “This record was about me trying to understand my father, and his grief,” she said. “It’s also a record about me trying to understand myself and wondering where I’m going next in life. Because truly, the thing that I’m searching for the most is to feel connected to humanity, to feel connected as a person. So Joanne is like, you know, Lady Gaga if you erase all the fame,” she confessed in a recent interview.

Joanne honors the singer’s aunt, her father’s sister, who died at age 19; ‘Joanne’ also is Gaga’s middle name. The album will be available for pre-order on Friday, Oct. 6. Buyers will instantly get a new track called “Million Reasons,” co-written by Gaga and country hitmaker Hillary Lindsey (“Jesus Take the Wheel,” “Girl Crush”). In an interview with Yahoo!, Gaga described the song as “a country song mixed with funk and rock ‘n’ roll. You would never imagine it would sound that way… the feeling underneath the record is it’s almost got like a little bit of a hip-hop feeling. But at the same time, it’s not a hip-hop song. It’s kind of like I just had no boundaries making music — and neither do any of the other people we were working with. It was kind of like what feels right, what hits the best, what’s going to get everybody in their stomach and their heart.”

It was recently confirmed that Lady Gaga will perform at next year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, taking place on Feb. 5, 2017, at the NRG Stadium in Houston.
