Kendrick Lamar To Headline 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Kendrick Lamar will headline the next Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 9, 2025, in New Orleans.

On Sunday, Lamar shared the news by posting a video of himself standing in front of an American flag on a football field.

“My name is Kendrick Lamar, and I’ll be performing at Super Bowl LIX,” he says in the video. “Will you be pulling up? I hope so.”

“You know, there’s only one opportunity to win a championship. No round twos. Let’s get it,” he continued.

This will not be the first time Lamar has appeared at the Super Bowl, as he joined the stage during Dr. Dre‘s halftime show in 2022.

“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one,” Lamar told Entertainment Weekly following the announcement.

The 2025 halftime show will be the sixth performance programmed by Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation. In a statement, he said that Lamar is “truly a once-in-a-lifetime generation artist and performer.”

“His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come,” Jay-Z said.

Lamar has made headlines this year for topping Billboard charts with songs “Not Like Us” and “Like That.” His feud with rapper Drake has also garnered attention, as the two released competing diss tracks earlier this year.

Lamar has won 17 Grammy awards and the Pulitzer Prize for music.
