Since the release of her music video for “Birthday” back in 2013, Katy Perry is known for celebrating birthdays in very exuberant ways. On Tuesday, she celebrated her own one by casting early vote for Hillary Clinton.
As the pop star turned 32 on Tuesday, she took over an Instagram story to share the journey of her birthday with her 57.5 million followers, beginning with a massage and some bacon cake for breakfast. After Perry had been given a Goddess Box, which included a “fuzzy vagina,” she headed to the polling station.
The “Firework” singer was seen placing her early vote for Democratic candidate Clinton into the box, and shared a video of herself saying “Happy birthday to me and happy birthday to you HRC,” as Clinton is celebrating her 69th birthday the next day. Wearing a patriotic Stars and Stripes jacket with handbag combo, the diva maintains her support for the female candidate, ahead of the Nov. 8 presidential election.
“Gave myself the best birthday present ever by voting today,” she captioned under her post. “Wish @hillaryclinton a Happy Birthday tomorrow with your early vote. Check www.rockthevote.com to see where your poll is. #HBDTOME #HAPPYBIRTHDAYHILLARY #SCORPIOSISTERS.”
The songstress later tweeted that she was rocking out to Kanye West on her special day.
Perry is also expected to perform a free “Get Out The Vote” concert in Philadelphia on Nov. 5, in support of Clinton’s presidential bid.
More recently, the singer took the grassroots course last Saturday when she stumped for Clinton, visiting the dorms of students at the UNLV campus.
