Karl Cook has responded to his split from Wife Kaley Cuoco for the first time since announcing their separation on September 3 in a court filing.

The pair have been together since 2016 and married in June 2018.

In a court filing, he also requested a divorce sitting “irreconcilable differences” as a reason for their breakup. He also asked for the end of the spousal support from both parties, maintaining their prenup agreement. He requests his “miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects” be returned to him.

This is Cuoco’s second marriage, previously she married tennis player Ryan Sweeting for three years before dating Cook. This was Cook’s only marriage.

In honor of their wedding night in June 2018, Cook shared a picture on Instagram of him and his wife kissing and wrote, “I am still processing the greatest night of my life marrying the love of my life! I mean god damn that dress was amazing!”

Cuoco shared an Instagram picture celebrating her three-year anniversary in June. The last photo she posted with her husband was in July.

The couple still appears to be on good terms despite filing for divorce. On September 12, Cook, a professional equestrian, earned the blue ribbon at the Traverse City National Grand Prix. He posted an Instagram video expressing his happiness over winning, and Cuoco shared her congratulations in the comments.

”Congrats you,” Cuoco wrote, “This is amazing,” with a hear and fire emoji.

Throughout the marriage, The Big Bang Theory star noted that her marriage was “very unconventional” because of work schedules.

”We have different locations that were a lot,” Cuoco told E! News in August 2019, “We’re not together every single day and I think, personally, it’s important, it works well for us.”

Cuoco is nominated at the Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, for her role as Cassie Bowden in The Flight Attendant.
