Kanye West returned to Instagram on Friday with his first post of 2023, announcing that he “likes Jewish people again,” after seeing Jonah Hill‘s performance in 21 Jump Street.
He continued, writing in the caption, “No one should take anger against one or two individuals and transform that into hatred towards millions of innocent people.”

21 Jump Street directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller responded on their Twitter accounts. Miller tweeted, “Um… thanks for watching?” while Lord wrote, “Laughter is the best medicine.”
This comes after West met with far-right extremists like Nick Fuentes and praised Hitler and attacked Jewish people with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on Infowars.
West attracted controversy in October 2022 when he wore a “White Lives Matter” shirt at his fashion show in Paris. He later claimed that the “Jewish media” censored him, tweeted that he would go “death con 3 on Jewish people” and posted an image of a swastika with the Star of David.
This led several companies including JP Morgan Chase, Balenciaga and Adidas to sever ties with the rapper.
In February, the Anti-Defamation League sent out a report that linked West’s statements to 30 different antisemitic incidents, including vandalism and targeted harassment.
The ADL also found that there was a 36% increase in antisemitic actions in 2022 compared to the year prior.
