Kaia Gerber Celebrates 21st With Mom Cindy Crawford At Burning Man

Model Kaia Gerber turned 21 on Saturday, and she spent her birthday weekend enjoying the Burning Man festival with her famous actress and supermodel mom, Cindy Crawford.

Kaia posted a mother-daughter photo from Nevada’s Black Rock desert to her Instagram story. She wrote that she was spending her big day in “a very special place” with her mom.

Crawford posted an old photo of her and Kaia when she was a small toddler. “@kaiagerber, how are you 21 already?!” She captioned the birthday tribute. “I am so proud of the woman you have become and how you are in the world. Your curiosity, kindness and sense of adventure continue to inspire me.”

The model’s mom added, “I’m so happy to be on this life journey with you! Continue to thrive this year and always — with so much love ❤️ Mom.”

Fellow model Karlie Kloss celebrated alongside Kaia and her mother at Burning Man.

“Happy 21st birthday, baby K!” she wrote on Instagram. “I am deeply grateful to have you in my life… Cheers to you on this milestone, cannot wait to see all that is in store for you. Love you baby sis.”

Kaia’s dad Rande Gerber also took to Instagram to share birthday wishes for his daughter.

“Happy 21 my angel,” he wrote. “Always there with a hug… or a haircut… or sometimes even a rolling pin. You take in life… like a sweet love song. Never stop smiling. I love you.”

Her Elvis star boyfriend, Austin Butler, joined in on the online celebration, tweeting a black and white photo of the couple. He wrote a simple, “Happy 21st Birthday, Kaia Gerber.”

Burning Man is an annual festival that celebrates art, community and self-expression. This year, the event ran from August 28 to September 5.

Kaia began modeling at age ten, and she’s the first model born in 2000s to be on the covers of Vogue, Vogue Italia, British Vogue and Vogue France. In 2017, she won Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards.
