The Polish-American model and former Real Housewives of Miami star, Joanna Krupa, said that her husband Douglas Nunes flew to her home country to help refugees fleeing to Poland from Ukraine. She also said that she may be going to Poland as well.
In a conversation recorded by TMZ, she said there are “so many organizations” providing support for Ukrainians in Poland. “My husband just went there on, Saturday. He’s there trying to organize some transportation,” Krupa revealed, and added that it “warms my heart to see how much good is being done in this really emotional and critical and sad time.”
She said that while Nunes is not Polish himself, he “loves Poland” after visiting the country several times, including for their wedding in 2018. When war broke out Nunes told Krupa, “I can’t sit back and do nothing.” She said she is currently taking care of their daughter, but revealed that she is “currently thinking” about going to Poland with her sister after Nunes returns. “I just want to hug these kids and these families,” Krupa added.
Krupa was born in Warsaw but moved with her family to Illinois at the age of five. She is still recognized as a Polish celebrity and has been the host of Poland’s Next Top Model since 2010.
