On Tuesday, James Franco posted a new provocative video endorsing Hillary Clinton.
The Women Vote Project released a steamy video of the 38-year-old actor stripping off to endorse the Democratic presidential nominee, one week ahead of election day. Franco took to Instagram to share this second endorsement video, captioning “I don’t usually endorse candidates, but when I do they’re extraordinary #MostInterestingWoman.”
Parodying the Dos Equis “Most Interesting Man in the World” series, the actor gives new reasons why he thinks Clinton is “the most interesting woman in the world,” wearing nothing but a Clinton logo towel.
The 30-second video clip features scenes of Clinton through the years, taking her message through the country, as Franco explains in voiceover why people should vote for the former Secretary Of State. “She didn’t just bring Iran to the table, she whittled the table with a single piece of oak,” he says in the video. “Her laugh is in the Smithsonian. Yoda was her apprentice.”
He then concludes with: “Vote wisely my friends.”
Franco launched #MostInterestingWoman Campaign in Support of Hillary Clinton, teaming up with EMILY’s List, Priorities USA and Schlep Labs. “I am excited to work with an amazing team to create and distribute this unconventional endorsement of Hillary Clinton for president,” he said in a statement.
Back in September, following the screening of this film In Dubious Battle at Deauville Film Festival, Franco delivered a political speech. “I read the news every day and I feel like there are so many [unjust] things,” he said. “The issue that my movie addresses is rights for the working class and it’s still a very important story to tell. A lot of jobs in America are being sent overseas and the workplace is changing. I think it’s something that should be addressed, I don’t want a situation where a small minority of the country is living in these walled off palaces and the rest of the country is in poverty.”
The King Cobra star is among a number of celebrities who publicly support Clinton, including Katy Perry, Lena Dunham, Madonna and Ellen DeGeneres.
