Cases of herpes have reportedly risen following the two-week Coachella Music festival.
Dr. Lynn Marie Morski of HerpAlert, an online service that allows users to send photos of a possible infection for evaluation, says that the number of cases since the festival is ten times more their average.
In the last 13 days, 1,105 consultation request were sent to the online service from Indio, Palm Desert, and areas surrounding the music festival.

Herpes comes in two forms, one which is transmitted from mouth-to-mouth contact, and the other which is sexually transmitted. The virus causes painful blisters and open sores around the affected area, and there’s no cure.
As of yet, Coachella has made no comments on these reports.
