Herman Exchevarria, ‘Real Housewives Of Miami’ Star, Found Dead At 61

Real Housewives of Miami‘s Herman Echevarria Sr. was found dead Monday at the age of 61.

Echevarria was found dead in his room at the Epic Hotel in Miami Monday morning. Echevarria’s family apparently believes that Echevarria died of a heart attack, reported E! News. He was discovered when his family members and his employees took note of him failing to show up to work, and then not answering his phone.

Echevarria’s death is currently under investigation.

Alexia Echevarria, whose divorce from Echevarria was recently finalized, released a statement asking for privacy as she grieves with the rest of the Echevarria family.

“The Echevarria family is heartbroken over the sudden passing of our patriarch Herman Echevarria this morning. He was a family man, a hardworking businessman, dedicated to helping others and a pillar of his community that was loved by everyone who’s life he touched,” her statement reads. “We ask that you please respect our privacy during this time of grieving.”

Despite splitting from Echevarria, Alexia continued to work with him on Venue magazine, which they had founded together back in 2010.
