Eddie Hassell, ‘The Kids Are All Right’ Star, Shot Dead In Dallas Carjacking At 30

Actor Eddie Hassell, star of the movie The Kids Are All Right and NBC show Surface, was shot to death at around 2 a.m. on Sunday while in a Dallas suburb and right outside of his girlfriend’s apartment, according to police.

“The motive is still under investigation but detectives can confirm a car was taken from the scene and later recovered,” a statement from Grand Prairie Police Department reads. They are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect.

Hassell was reportedly shot as part of an attempted carjacking, and died once he reached the hospital.

Hassell’s girlfriend, Elizabeth Martin, has made several posts dedicated to him since his death.

The surf resort Hassell regularly visited is hosting a paddle out this Sunday in memorial of his death.
