President Donald Trump‘s 2020 budget proposal includes $100 million for a global women’s fund spearheaded by the President’s daughter, Ivanka Trump.
The budget, which is expected to be released on Monday, will include the funding for the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative, a project lead by Ivanka that was recently launched by the Trump Administration.
The funding will come through the U.S. Agency for International Development, which has set up $50 million from its budget to the fund. Trump has previously tried to cut USAID’s budget.
In a statement to reporters, Ivanka noted that Friday was International Women’s Day and described the goals of her initiative. The purpose of the initiative is “working towards our goal of economically empowering 50 million women in developing countries by 2025,” said Ivanka.
