On October 29, 2019, a music legend Carlos Santana and his wife Cindy Blackman Santana spend time with children at Discovery Children’s Museum, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mexican-American guitarist led a drum circle to fourth graders during global instruments presentation, which was part of the cultural collaboration. Students were playing along with his latest album Africa.
Santana also talked about a deeper meaning behind the music. “The West needs to be reminded every day that rhythms from Africa, there’s a nutrient and ingredient to heal fear because it’s a medicine, heal fear and anything that has to do with an infection, which is fear,” said the legendary guitarist.
Las Vegas Philharmonic aims to get 23,000 local students access to similar music programs every year.
