Brooklyn Beckham announced his engagement to fiancée Nicola Peltz after just nine short months of dating.

The 21 year-old shared the news on Instagram by saying, “Two weeks ago I asked my soulmate to marry me and she said yes xx I am the luckiest man in the world. I promise to be the best husband and the best daddy one day ❤️ I love you baby xx”

Beckham and Peltz had been practicing social distancing in New York City during the coronavirus pandemic, but had recently gone back to the U.K. in order to celebrate Beckham’s sister Harper’s ninth birthday.

Peltz reposted the photo that Beckham had shared and revealed that nine year-old Harper was the one who had taken the seemingly professional photo. She wrote, “you’ve made me the luckiest girl in the world. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life by your side. your love is the most precious gift. I love you so so much baby and thank you harper for this pic”

Many were taken back by Beckham’s quick engagement arguing that he is too young to get married. One Twitter user wrote, “The way Brooklyn Beckham was born after me and is engaged before me.”

Another added, “i thought brooklyn beckham was still 8????”

“cant believe brooklyn beckham proposed to his bird after 7 months when i cant even get a text back from a man who uses 3 in 1 body wash shampoo and conditioner. im going to puke,” someone else said.

In the photo shared, Peltz’s emerald cut engagement ring can be seen. Beckham’s mother Victoria Beckham also had an emerald cut ring at the time of her engagement to husband David Beckham. The two were married at ages 25 and 24 respectively and share four children.
