After the Ice Bucket Challenge went viral back in July 2014, it is now the time for the Mannequin Challenge. The phenomenon, which was started by students in Florida, has won over sports figures, politicians, artists and other celebrities. Recently, Britney Spears and Kate Hudson has become the latests stars to rise to the challenge.
Spears joined the viral trend by sharing a video, in which we see her and her backup dancers being filmed frozen in place mid-action onstage at the AXIS auditorium at the Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
While rehearsing for her Britney: Piece of Me residency show, with her last Glory single “Slumber Party” playing in the background, the pop star nails the challenge. At the end of the clip, a sign shows off Spears’ latest accomplishment: the “Toxic” singer was named the best resident performer in the Las Vegas Review-Journal‘s 2016 Best of Las Vegas Awards, which are chosen by readers, for the second year in a row.
“We use our bodies to make our own #MannequinChallenge,” Spears wrote. “Thank you for voting #PieceOfMe for @TheBestOfLV,” she captioned the video, thanking her fans.
The short video underscored by Spears’ sultry single “Slumber Party” featuring Tinashe, whose official music video will premiere on November 18.
Hudson also did the Mannequin Challenge, posing frozen at a garden party in Malibu with son Ryder Robinson, and friends such as stylist Jamie Schneider Mizrahi, Sara Foster, Erin Foster and Rachel Zoe,
“Mannequin Challenge Take 86,” Foster captioned the video, hinting that the group had trouble coming to a standstill together.
