Actor Boyd Holbrook, the star of Narcos, will return to Netflix for the company’s new movie In the Shadow of the Moon.
The movie was written by Gregory Weidman and Geoff Tock, and it will be directed by Jim Mickle, who wrote and directed several episodes of Hap and Leonard. Mickle told Variety that the script is a “mind bender” and incorporates Mickle’s favorite genres. He also spoke highly of Holbrook.

“Boyd is going to eat this role alive and show why he’s one of the best young actors working today,” Mickle told Variety. “We’re lucky to have an incredibly talented producing team and a home like Netflix that’s excited to take chances. Any studio that makes ‘Okja’ has a permanent place in my heart.”
Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Rian Cahill, Pen Pugh and Linda Moran will also help produce In the Shadow of the Moon.
“Jim Mickle is a visionary director, and with the spectacular Boyd Holbrook starring, we have a partnership between director and leading man that promises a uniquely special film,” Kavanaugh-Jones told Variety.
