David Esquibias, lawyer to Amanda Bynes, has revealed that Bynes is not pregnant, two months after the former actress announced her pregnancy via Instagram on March 17. The post was of an ultrasound photo and has since been deleted. This photo was featured on the Instagram of Bynes’ partner, Paul Michael, along with a selfie of himself and Bynes. Michael’s post, captioned “baby in the making,” has also since been deleted.
Hours after both partner’s posts of the ultrasound, Esquibias sent a request for privacy to People for Bynes. He stated that she is currently seeking “treatment for ongoing mental health issues.”
Bynes and Michael met at the end of 2019 and were engaged on Valentine’s Day. They called off their plans to marry three weeks later, but Michael still has photos of his and Bynes’ engagement rings up on Instagram. On March 9, Bynes had shared a selfie of herself and Michael on Instagram with the caption “My love 🖤.”
Days before, on March 1, Bynes announced her one year of sobriety via Instagram by posting photos with two unidentified men with the caption, “Celebrating being sober a year and two months!”
Bynes has been under conservatorship since 2014 due to public breakdowns and substance abuse. During Bynes’ recent conservatorship case, the judge required that Bynes enter a mental health facility. Bynes originally agreed to the terms, but then later refused to check into the center. Esquibias told Us Weekly that she would be receiving professional care for her “ongoing mental health issues.” Bynes has been receiving help from a sober living facility since January 2019.
