Alyssa Milano Involved In Car Accident After Uncle Has Heart Attack While Driving

Little Italy actress Alyssa Milano was involved in a car accident on August 17. Authorities said that the accident occurred when her uncle suffered a possible heart attack while driving on a Los Angeles freeway.

A press release from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that Milano was in the front passenger seat of a 2020 Ford Edge SUV, which was being driven by her uncle, Mitchell Carp, 63, when he suffered a medical complication and became unconscious.

According to the report, their car drifted into another lane and hit a passing black SUV; Milano told authorities that she felt the impact on the right side of their car.

“With the assistance of a good Samaritan,” the report said, Milano and her uncle were soon “able to bring the Ford to a stop between the #1 and #2 lanes.”

CHP said that the black SUV left the collision scene.

CHP and West Los Angeles Area officers were informed about the situation at around 9:49 a.m. and were summoned to the southbound I-405 freeway, north of Sepulveda Boulevard.

Milano gave her uncle CPR until first responders arrived at the scene.

According to the report, two LAPD units arrived at the scene first and initiated CPR on Carp. CPR was continued on Carp by the Los Angeles City Fire Department, who took him to UCLA Westwood Hospital. His status is undisclosed.

Milano was referred to as the “uninjured passenger” in the report. She was picked up by her husband, David Bugliari.

Milano recently tweeted about the importance of caring for loved ones.

“We should all take every opportunity we have to protect the people we love,” she wrote. “Get vaccinated. Wear masks. Lock up your guns. Learn CPR. Small, common-sense actions.”

She ended her tweet by writing, “It’s not hard to take care of each other, but it is important.”

Milano became a well-known actress for her roles in shows like Who’s the Boss and Charmed. In recent years, Milano has publicly shared her thoughts on political issues via social media. For instance, she publicly criticized former President Donald Trump by protesting the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and testified in support of the Equal Rights Amendment during a hearing in 2019.

On August 18, the actress shared a series of tweets about the accident, describing it as “traumatic.”
