Enough With 'Bombshell' McGee!

It was less than a month ago that the world was introduced to Michelle “Bombshell” McGee. Before she sold the story of her affair with Sandra Bullock’s husband, Jesse James, to US Weekly, no one had ever heard of her. Then, instantly, we couldn’t avoid her.

A quick Google search will turn up a flood of daily articles and blog posts detailing every aspect of McGee’s education, employment, and personal history. Everyday it is something new. Michelle McGee was Amish. She studied medicine. Her armpits are tattooed. Michelle McGee is more than likely a member of the White Power movement. You can find videos of her, screenshots of her Facebook profile, you can even photos of the contents of her fridge if you so desire. And a lot of people do.

This inundation of information is served up to us presumably to provide an answer to the question everyone initially had- who is this woman? Yet, we knew the answer to that question the whole time. Because, really, she is just some chick that slept with Sandra Bullock’s husband. That is truly the only thing about her that makes her relevant in any way to the general population. She is interesting only by association. The details about her don’t even matter because, at the end of the day, there could have been many other women in her place.

The real truth people are searching for is what could possibly compel a seemingly happily married man to cheat on America’s Sweetheart? And the answer to that probably has very little to do with Michelle McGee, and everything to do with Jesse James himself, and his relationship with his wife. So, enough about Michelle McGee please. She is just a woman who profited from sleeping with a man married to a very famous actress. I really don’t need to know anything else about her, and I’m tired of seeing her tattooed foreheard pop up on my favorite blogs day and after day. Just like I don’t need to read another cover story on Rachel Uchitel, or the rest of Tiger’s female friends. Let’s just turn our attention to people doing something, and not someone, noteworthy themselves, shall we?
