Nicola Peltz (born January 9, 1995′ age: 28) is an American actress. She is known for her roles as Katara in the 2010 film The Last Airbender, Bradley Martin in the A&E television series Bates Motel, and Tessa Yeager in Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Nicola Peltz Early Life

Nicola Anne Peltz was born in Westchester County, N.Y. to billionaire businessman and philanthropist Nelson Peltz and former model Claudia Peltz. She is one of eight children and one of two daughters, with one of her brothers being actor Will Peltz. She comes from a blend of ancestries, inheriting an Austrian and Russian Jewish lineage from her father and a mix of German, Welsh, and English ancestry from her mother.

Peltz attended Rye Country Day School, a K-12 prep school in Rye, N.Y.

Nicola Peltz Career

Peltz made her film debut at the age of 11 in Deck the Halls by playing Mackenzie. Her career took a quick shift onto the stage in 2007, where she played opposite Jeff Daniels and Alison Pill in the production of Blackbird at the Manhattan Theatre Club. The production won a Laurence Olivier Award.

Peltz took two more small film roles in 2008 in Harold and Righteous Kill. Her first major role came two years later in Nickelodeon’s fantasy adventure The Last Airbender, based on the television station’s animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. Peltz played Katara, a 14-year-old girl of the Southern Water Tribe who is the last remaining waterbender of her tribe and is forced to play a motherly figure to her family after the death of her mother. The film and her performance were panned by critics and audiences but did begin her path towards bigger acting roles.

One such role for Peltz would be a role in A&E’s thriller series Bates Motel, which is a “contemporary prequel” to Alfred Hitchcock’s film Psycho. Peltz plays the role of Bradley Martin, a popular schoolgirl that sees her world turn upside down after her father is burned to death. Peltz has appeared in 11 episodes since the show premiered in 2013.

Peltz landed in two feature films in 2014, with the first being Affluenza. In the movie, she plays Kate Miller, a rich girl on suburban Long Island just before “The Great Recession.” She joined star Ben Rosenfield in an exclusive interview with uInterview about the film.

“Sometimes you definitely cannot sympathize for her. You know her morals are all mixed up,” Peltz told uInterview of her character. “You look at her and you think she should be really happy, but when you go inside of her and inside her life you just see that she is a confused and broken person, and it was fun to play her.”

Peltz also landed a big role in 2014 by becoming the female lead of Michael Bay‘s fourth Transformers movie, Transformers: Age of Extinction. She plays Tessa Yeager, the daughter of Cade (played by star Mark Wahlberg). Tessa tries to hide a secret relationship from her father while aiding the Autobots in their fight against the evil Decepticons. The film landed Peltz with some accolades, including winning the CinemaCon Award for Rising Star and a nomination at the Teen Choice Awards for Breakout Star.

Since her breakout role, Peltz has held others in hit films. In 2020, she starred in Holidate, alongside Emma Roberts and Kristin Chenoweth. She also appeared in the 2021 film Old, which depicts a family that finds themselves rapidly aging upon landing at a destination beach spot.

Nicola Peltz Personal Life

Nicola Peltz is now known as an actress, but she grew up with other interests. She not only started modeling at an early age but also played ice hockey. Although she originally thought she’d be a hockey player, she took up drama and fell in love with it, taking her life onto that path.

In 2022, Peltz married Brooklyn Beckham, son of English soccer player David Beckham and designer Victoria Beckham.
