Renner also co-produced the movie, which was based on Webb’s book Dark Alliance. He also co-produced the 2016 biographical drama film The Founder, which starred Michael Keaton.

JEREMY RENNER BIO: VIDEO INTERVIEW ON ‘WIND RIVER’

Renner sat down with uInterview for an exclusive interview on his latest film, Wind River, which was released on Aug. 4. Written and directed by Taylor Sheridan, the neo-Western thriller sees Renner as Cory Lambert, a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service tracker who teams up with an FBI agent (Olsen) to solve the murder of a young woman who was sexually assaulted on an Indian reservation in Wyoming.

Renner praised Olsen for several reasons. “She’s such a trooper,” he said. “She did a lot of gun training and all of these wonderful things, so I was really impressed with how much dedication and time she spent to make the character really believable. She crossed all our t’s and dotted all our i’s. She was on point.”

He also added that, given that the film mainly revolves around his character and Olsen’s, that the setting was more “intimate” than it was when they collaborated on Avengers: Age of Ultron.

“I was really attracted to the writing, and the landscape, but also just dealing with loss, unflappability and strength” Renner added about making the film.

In January 2014, Renner married Sonni Pacheco, a Canadian model. The couple filed for divorce less than a year later in December 2014 due to irreconcilable differences. They share a daughter named Ava Berlin Renner, who was born in March, 2013.

He studied martial arts to prepare for his parts in the Mission Impossible and Avengers franchises, as well as his role in The Bourne Legacy.

According to reports, Renner’s net worth is $50 million.

Quotes:

“I live my life through fear. If I’m afraid of it I’ll do it just so I’m not afraid of it anymore.”
“I like repressed characters. That gives me a lot of freedom to make a lot of different choices through subtleties.”
“In the ‘Hurt Locker’ there’s a lot of me in there, a sense of humor, a man of few words and a lot of action.”
