Haley Bennett is an American actress. She is best known for her roles in Music and Lyrics (2007), The Girl on the Train (2016) and Swallow (2019).

HALEY BENNETT BIOGRAPHY: EARLY LIFE, AGE, FAMILY, EDUCATION

Haley Bennett (Haley Keeling) was born on January 7, 1988 (Haley Bennett: Age 35) in Fort Myers, Florida to Leilani and Ronald Keeling. When she was six years old her parents divorced and she moved to Ohio with her father. The two would regularly move around the state and Bennett said, “There was no time when I lived anywhere longer than two years. I was always a social outcast. Maybe I didn’t care what people thought because I [thought], ‘Well, I probably won’t stick around here for too long.'”

When living with her father, Bennett attended Stow-Munroe Falls High School and Barbizon Modeling School. When she lived with her mother, she attended Barron F. Collier High School.

When Bennett was 18 she talked her mother into going to Los Angeles for three months to attempt an acting career. Just as the two were about to head home, her agent signed her.

Bennett signed a three-movie deal with Warner Bros., starting with the comedy Music and Lyrics (2007) where she played Cora Corman. Bennett sang songs for the soundtrack, including “Way Back into Love” and “Buddha’s Delight.”

Her next two movies with Warner Bros was College (2008) where she played the love interest, Kendall. Later that year she starred as the titular character in The Haunting of Molly Hartley.

Some of Bennett’s other acting credits include the films Arcadia Lost (2010), Deep Powder (2013), Kristy (2014), The Girl on the Train (2016), Swallow (2019), Hillbilly Elegy (2020), She Is Love (2022) and Magazine Dreams (2023).

Magazine Dreams follows the story of bodybuilder Killian Maddox (Jonathan Majors) who is looking for human connection but is not willing to give up his obsession with fame. Bennett plays Jessie, Killian’s love interest. 

In an exclusive interview during the Sundance Film Festival premiere, Bennett discussed the message of the film. 

“Masculine toxicity is encapsulated in this, the American dream, and what it means to like get ahead and what it means to be on top and what it means to be a man,” she said. “At the end of the day I think this is a universal story about connection and it’s a poem to the underdog and it’s a thought-provoking drama about the importance of kindness and tenderness and love and like everyone needs a little bit of connection. Like we need to connect, we need to be kind to each other before it’s too late, there are consequences.”

Bennett has been in a relationship with British film director Joe Wright. The two had a daughter in 2018.
