David Jonsson is a British actor. He is known for his roles in Industry and Rye Lane (2023).

DAVID JONSSON BIOGRAPHY: EARLY LIFE, FAMILY, EDUCATION

David Jonsson was born in 1993 (David Jonsson: Age 30) in London. After finishing high school, Jonsson joined the National Youth Theatre and then studied at the Royal Academy Of Dramatic Art. Jonsson graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor’s in acting.

DAVID JONSSON BIOGRAPHY: CAREER

Jonsson started his acting career on the stage with roles in the productions of Mary Stuart and Don Juan in Soho.

In 2018 Jonsson wrote, directed and starred in his own short film, Gen Y.  

Jonsson’s career as a television star took off when he played Augustus Sackey in the show Industry. In the show, a group of cutthroat recent graduates compete for positions at London’s best investment bank, Pierpoint & Co. The show premiered on BBC Two in 2020.

DAVID JONSSON BIOGRAPHY: RYE LANE

In 2023 Jonsson co-starred in the BIPOC rom-com Rye Lane with Vivian Oparah. The film follows the story of Dom and Yas, two young adults trying to mend their broken hearts by galavanting through Peckham’s playgrounds and karaoke bars.

At the Sundance Film Festival, Jonsson spoke to uInterview exclusively about his experiences. Alongside Oparah, Jonsson said, “Honestly there’s no other way to say it, it is like full-on amazing. We just love watching great films with great actors.”

When asked to describe his character, Jonsson said, “Dom is a good man. He’s cool. I think he knows what he wants to say, just doesn’t know how to say it. He plays things very by the book. So he needs someone like Yas.”
