Julienne Hough, the Dancing With The Stars judge, announced earlier this year that she would take a seat as one of the judges on NBC’s America’s Got Talent along with Gabrielle Union-Wade. Last week, she was spotted making her way up Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro with her husband Brooks Laich and her mother, Marriann Hough.

PLAN YOUR KILIMANJARO TRIP HERE!

The three along with a few others in their hiking group, including Laich’s mother, Jane Laich, announced that they reached the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro at 19,340 feet over the course of an eight-day-long adventure.

Laich shared a post of the climbing crew as they hit the peak of the mountain and celebrate their achievement. He also shared a thoughtful appreciation for all their hard work together. “This week has been nothing short of amazing, getting to spend quality time with family members, undertaking a challenge together, and achieving a goal as a group, and individuals,” he wrote. “So many specials memories, including the view from the top — something I will always remember for the rest of my life!”

Congrats to our entire team for summiting Mount Kilimanjaro! So proud of @michaelpoole47 @marabethpoole @juleshough and @janelaich for making the trek to 19,340 feet of elevation, and standing atop the tallest peak in all of Africa! This week has been nothing short of amazing, getting to spend quality time with family members, undertaking a challenge together, and achieving a goal as a group, and individuals. So many specials memories, including the view from the top – something I will always remember for the rest of my life! I want to send a massive thank you to our head guide @msafiri.munna, our assistant guide @georgo.mosses, and our other assistant guide Prosper, for making this possible. You are truly the best on the mountain, and thank you for making this dream possible for us! Also, a massive thank you to the rest of the staff that was with us all week! Our cook Coleman, our attendant Lucas and his assistant Boniface, our camp manager Moses, and all the porters that hauled our food, tents, and supplies up the mountain. None of this would be possible without each and every one of you! Thank you @eddiebauer for outfitting all 5 of us from head to toe with your First Ascent gear to keep us warm all week! Huge fan of your gear – so comfortable, warm, and packs super efficiently – can’t say enough about how well the gear performed through all 4 climactic regions on the climb! So thank you very much @eddiebauer! And thank you @blacktomatotravel, and namely Tessa, for all your hard work coordinating and booking this adventure for us. Nobody does travel and adventure better than you guys, and thank you Tessa for going over and above to ensure we would have the best experience ever! #BTtravels And thank you to all of you who have been on this journey with us, and sent words of encouragement! We appreciate the support – and share this incredible memory with you! Cheers to the top! 🏔
