Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Review: Note Series Attains New Highs

Samsung’s become one of the most prolific smartphone developers worldwide, owing to their feature-packed products. However, the manufacture’s latest mobile device, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, reaches new heights, promising a much brighter future than the Note 7 did.

SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 8 REVIEW

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 infamously burdened consumers by spontaneously combusting, and while it’s too early to know if Samsung’s newer testing methods will prevent its successor from suffering similar problems, the Note 8 has thus far proven to be a reliable partner. In fact, if you skipped the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, this could prove to be the perfect time to return to Samsung’s ecosystem.

Regarding its specs, much of the S8 Plus has carried over to the Note 8, so the differences between them are fairly minuscule. The Note 8 is slightly bigger in its dimensions, offering an OLED screen spanning 6.3 inches. Comparing the two, the S8 Plus has 4GB of RAM to the Note 8’s 6GB, although the Plus actually has the mildly larger battery. Ultimately, the Note 8 is an excellent choice, but it likely doesn’t offer enough over the Plus to warrant an upgrade if you’re in possession of one.

The Note 8’s biggest improvement over the S8 and S8 Plus is the presence of a second rear camera, giving your pictures more depth. You’re also given a wide array of flexibility with how you focus your subject matter, as you can adjust the blurriness of the background. Four filters – food mode, pro mode, panorama and slow motion — are available to further enhance your artistic endeavors with more options. Moreover, budding photographers will be pleased that the Note 8 has optical image stabilization, helping keep images clear.

Samsung’s default price for the Note 8 is $929.99, although a monthly plan is also available if that’s your preference. You have two colorations to please your aesthetic preferences: midnight black and orchid gray.
