Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Review: A Strong Battery For On The Go

If you require a long-lasting laptop, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon is a powerful choice. The fifth generation in its lineage, the latest Carbon comes with the expense one would expect.

LENOVO THINKPAD X1 CARBON REVIEW

Numerous configuration options are available for the Carbon. Just over $1,330 is the default price, but you can spend around $2,240 for its most advanced incarnation. Additionally, the laptops can be customized to suit your needs. However, all models share their operating system: Windows 10 Pro.

The Carbon comes with 512 GB of internal memory, and the audio output is Dolby Audio Premium. In terms of their image quality, the latest Carbon maintains the 14-inches of its predecessors. In terms of its quality, the image is depicted in a clear 1,920 x 1,080 display. Its stylish design results in a machine that’s pleasant to look at. A webcam decorates the top as well, although CNET’s reviewer notes how it isn’t of high-quality.

One of the greatest assets the Carbon has is its prolonged battery life. According to CNET’s reviewer, who had the most expensive Carbon, the battery lasted nearly 12 hours — an impressive amount for a laptop with a screen as large as it has. Moreover, Lenovo claims it has the potential to last 15.5 hours before it needs to recharge. CNET also adds how the Carbon can last for days while hibernating in sleep mode.

However, she wasn’t as enraptured with its accompanying keyboard, even if it’s on par with laptop keyboards. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon comes with a built-in fingerprint scanner, which is located on the keyboard. It worked imperfectly during CNET’s testing, however.

Ultimately, Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 Carbon is a capable, sturdy machine. It doesn’t reinvent its legacy, but it does provide a stable option on the market. If you’re a fan of the series, the X1 Carbon is a respectable continuation.
