Jaybird Run Headphones Review: Enhance Your Workouts

Jaybird Run headphones have begun making a splash as the first truly wireless headphones Jaybird has produced. They might be worth keeping an eye on if you need a new partner for your workout routine.

JAYBIRD RUN HEADPHONES REVIEW

As they were designed for athletes, Jaybird’s headphones are resistant to water and sweat thanks to their double hydrophobic nano coating. And, the one-size-fits-all buds will stay lodged in your ears as you work out.

The left and right earbuds each house their own button. When used together, the former activates Siri or Google Assistant while the latter’s button can play or pause music. However, one useful aspect of their design is how the two ear pieces can be used independently, meaning you only need to bring one with you when you head out for a run.

Jaybird Run headphones app

When amplified with the Jaybird smartphone app, you can enhance your music by adjusting the sound output. You can also use your headphones to make phone calls. If you lose one of your Run earpieces, the app’s “Find My Bubs” feature should help you retrieve them.

However, Gizmodo’s experience with the Run headphones found a disappointing issue: its connectivity isn’t reliable when presented with a lot of interference. While Gizmodo’s experience with other headphones would have snares here and there, Jaybird’s headsets were discernibly worse than normal, often jumping “back and forth like a little wireless ping pong match of frustration.” Its dependability exponentially increased when indoors, likely due to less interference.
