Wireless headphones offer convenience to audiophiles, although some compromises have to be made for that convenience. However, Sennheiser’s HD 4.50 BTNC Wireless headphones still manage to provide a well-rounded, capable option.
The 4.50 BTNC is designed to comfortably nestle over both of your ears. According to CNET’s review, Sennheiser’s NoiseGard feature will perform a solid job blocking out any intruding audio for 19 hours of musical bliss. Should you elect to keep NoiseGard off, the battery will last for 25 hours instead. The headphones also have controls embedded within them, allowing you to change songs or make calls while in use.
These headphones are wireless in the truest sense of the word. They function through Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and aptX, meaning you never need to be encumbered with the hassle of a wire. However, you can connect a cable to the 4.50 BTNC for occasions that benefit from them. There isn’t a massive difference in sound quality whether you’re using a cord or not.
The 4.50 BTNC headphones are sharp looking. They do, however, suffer from the somewhat cheap materials that compose them. They’re predominantly made of plastic, with a synthetic leather serving as a memory foam. The latter isn’t bad but it is discernibly cheaper than some competing products.
The Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC Wireless headphones cost $199.95. They also come with a two-year warranty. Unfortunately, the package does not include a carrying case, but the headphones fold up neatly, making them easy to carry around.
