Huawei’s Honor View 10 Review: A Good, Cost-Effective Android Phone

In previous years, a standard smartphone would cost approximately $600 to $700. But as technology progressed, smartphone prices have correspondingly gone up. Therefore, a market for budget, entry-level smartphones has emerged, and if you wanted one, the OnePlus 5T would heretofore be the likely go-to recommendation.

However,  Huawei’s latest Android, the Honor View 10, offers a respectably competent yet budget-friendly alternative, and it would be worth your consideration if you’re shopping for a phone.

Before we look at the Honor View 10 more closely, it’s worth mentioning how six significant figures within the U.S. intelligence agency do not advise purchasing a phone from the China-based hardware manufacturer, citing security concerns. Huawei, however, responded by saying how it “poses no greater cybersecurity risk than any ICT vendor.” If you aren’t deterred from a Huawei phone, then here’s what you need to know about the Honor 10.

Looking at its specs, the Honor View 10 is commendable for its price range. Huawei’s own Kirin 970 AI processor and 5V/4.5A Honor Supercharge battery power the machine, with Huawei boasting of the latter’s Smart Power Management. According to Huawei’s calculations, it takes roughly 95 minutes to charge completely, and 23 hours is the “theoretical 3G talk time.” Moreover, the View 10 has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, and it supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2.

The View 10’s 5.99-inch screen offers a pleasant display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Huawei put effort into the View 10’s camera, too. Melding a dual-lens rear camera with technology built to increase its focus, this smartphone camera is good.
