The Sound Wizards at Bang & Olufsen recently made a powerful mark on the wireless headphone market with their Beoplay H7 over-ear headphones. The Beoplay H9s maintain the features B&O users have come to love. Cushioning your ears in a soft lambskin and adaptive memory foam, the over-ear headphones are perfect for all day use. Form and function unite with the metallic touch-controls on the ear cup. Slide your finger to control volume, tap to play or pause, and now swipe up or down to switch on active noise cancellation. Advanced wireless Bluetooth ensures your audio continues playing. Of course, it wouldn’t be a B&O product without superior sound quality; Bang & Olufsen Signature Sound always remains precise and clear.
The newest feature, the noise cancellation, lets you turn down environmental sounds to focus on your music. The headphones make this possible by using two microphones, one external and another internal, which together cancel out the ambient noise signal.
A recent review from Engadget confirms that battery life lasts for up to 14 hours, and the headphones also have the option to swap out the battery. The H9 takes a microUSB for charging—which requires about three hours—and can also plug into a standard audio jack. The BeoPlay app also helps manage battery life, as well as customize sound settings and manage software updates.
If you are a stickler for music clarity while outside, the extra money may be worth it for the superior noise cancellation. With a beautiful design and excellent sound quality, a B&O headset is a good return on investment for music buffs.
